When we look towards our universe, we think if we can travel there.we become upset realizing our life is limited to earth, in other word we think it is impossible for us to travel anywhere in space.After discoveries of many things about universe we think we know everything about it but it make us feel that we don't know enough about it when we face new mysterious discoveries.There are many things beyond our solar system from which we are unfamiliar.we feel upset when we listen,we are alone,Nobodies exist in universe in other planet.But it is seems to be wrong.There are billion of galaxies, in which most of the stars are alike and similar to Sun.It means there might be planet similar to Earth. If we found any planet suitable for life,we intend to live there but we do not have discovered any technology to reach such a long distance.There are some prediction done about spaceship. Today we are going to discuss about Hypothetical space Journey technology:
There are two predicted spacecraft for interstellar journey, First one is Nano probe (A robotic mission). It Will be small in size and will work consuming less energy. No human will take participate in it everything will be done itself by robotic probe.Second one is Huge spacecraft. Humans will travel to millions of kilometers using it.It will consume energy more than we think.Let's talk about Nano probe first.
Nano probe: A Robotic Mission
If we want interstellar journey we need to invent very small probe which will be able to work on less energy.The more small we make it, the more speed it travel. Some astronomer thought to make small probe because it is impossible for human to travel space at present. They have completed its 3d model and they thought to install special type of microchip which will be size of few centimeters. Except the microchip we also need to install Camera, instruments necessary for navigation, photon thrusters, Narrow particles system, power supply etc.In fact human will not travel using this instrument but get experience of journey.After installing these instruments, A light cell of size 4/4 m made from graphic should also install.we need to make it larger so that it can make more energy using sun light. The more energy it make the more faster probe run.The light cell produce thrust after making energy,due to thrust the probe runs.
It is very challengeable to send it to another planetary system with higher velocity. To provide it higher velocity, we need to install a Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. (LASER)beam of 100 Gigawatt (GW).The LASER beam will strike to probe and provide 100Kms-2 acceleration which will be 15/20% of velocity of light.But it is very difficult (Almost impossible at present) to invent LASER beam of 100GW.We can glow 11million of light bulb by 100GW energy. If we successfully install such probe, it will reach Alpha centaury star system in 20 years which is approximately 4.3 light years away from us and we will be able to know the planet of alpha century star system which is alike to earth. The objective of BreakThrough star project is to make 1000 of such nano probe and install it in space up to 2036.The estimated budget of this project is 10billion Us dollars.
But the problems is,it will not stop even it reached to the alpha centaury or proxima centaury due to its higher velocity. That's why it is planned to launch 1000 of nano probe at a time so that each will provide different image of a particular planet,star or galaxy in its journey. It will provide every kinds of information got in journey.
Giant Generation Spacecraft
If we want to travel hundred of light year in space we need a huge and advanced spacecraft.Such type of spacecraft is known as generation spacecraft.With the help of this type of spacecraft thousands of people can travel in space at same time.In this type of spacecraft, there will be artificial biosphere, land and everything that available in Earth for surviving. The main objective of this spacecraft is to reach a particular destination of million of light year with the help of upcoming generation. If we can travel a particular planets in 200 years,Each generation will operate spacecraft at leat 25 years.From this mission human can reach there after 4 generation. Similarly if it takes 1000 years,human can reach there with the help of 40 generation. But the main issue is to make such spacecraft we already discussed that a nano probe needs 100GW energy to operate but this spacecraft will be thousands time greater than probe,we can't imagine how much energy it will need.We should make it in space as it can't be launched from Earth,Let's think we faced it and made it,there will be another problem to create artificial biosphere, if we became able to create there will be another problem, to be safe from harmful radiation of space. It is impossible to stay in spacecraft for 1000 of years.If we became able to solve all these problem finally this mission will be lost if our upcoming generation won't follow us and focus on objective.we need to do everything in spacecraft, all the daily activities that we do on Earth until we reach our destination. After reaching we will start make colony.
If we launch such spacecraft in the interval of 50 years for same destination, the spacecraft will be more advanced and will reach faster than previous generation and there will be less probability to the upcoming generation for losing it.They will be amazed after seeing the human colonization already built.
Embrayo space colonization
It is the solution of generation spacecraft. In this mission we don't need huge spacecraft and human.it will be robotic mission, embrayo of human will kept in a special type of technology and robots will be sent to take care of these embrayo.Robot will start to make a human baby from embrayo after reaching habitable planet.They will take care of human and study together about planet.Robert will teach all the process for survive. They will teach human to cultivate food.Let's talk about its restrictions:
1.It is very difficult to protect Human's embrayo for long period of time.
2.It is impossible at present to invent advanced Robert that can take care of human for lifetime and teach them to survive
4.If we made advanced robot there will be problem to operate such robots for thousands of year, once it spoil humans embrayo may lost and mission will be failed.
Despite of such barriers scientists think it may be possible and may be launch such mission in space very soon.
