Fritz Zwicky discovered the dark matter. In fact he gave name it as dark matter, which meaning is invisible and undiscovered.
History of the dark matter
An astronomer Fritz Zwicky was doing his research on galaxies. In their study he observed the comma cluster of galaxies. Cluster is the group of galaxies. We know that galaxies also moves around a certain point. Galaxies of Comma cluster was moving in their orbit. Zwicky found that the speed of the galaxy near to the centre is same to those which is very away from center.It was against the Newton's laws or Newtonian physics.
